Students in first through fourth grades are able to publish original stories, which they write and illustrate.
In 2015-16, the Publishing Center assembled a record-setting 891 books! We are the only elementary school left in the district to offer a Publishing Center program of this magnitude.
Our Publishing Center is funded by the PTO and is staffed 100% by parent volunteers. And we need A LOT of volunteers! Therefore, we ask that you consider joining us! It is through our parent volunteers, who are so generous with their time, that we are able to continue.
Volunteer opportunities include typing, proofreading, creating covers, laminating covers, and assembly. Depending on the area(s) chosen, volunteers have the option of working at home or in school. In addition, our volunteers are free to choose when, and how much, they volunteer – there is no need to commit to a set day or a specific number of hours.
We encourage anyone interested in learning more about volunteer opportunities to contact us at VFEPubCntr@tesd.net. We hope to see you in the Publishing Center!
Info for Students & Families
We thank the Valley Forge PTO for its continued funding of supplies and materials for the Publishing Center. Publishing Center books are special keepsakes that demonstrate each child’s creative growth from year to year, and we’re very excited to be able to offer this program to our students.
Please read on for more details to guide you through the creation of your book.
